Sounding bodies was a month-long research-oriented residency in collaboration with contemporary dancer and vocalist Nele Suisalu at Kanuti Gildi Saal.
We arrived to the residency with the intention of using the human body as a potential sound generator and manipulator. We were also interested in the communicative aspects of sound: considering voice as the most intimate link between inner selves and outer space.
During the residency there were 3 open showings introducing our experiments. We extended human voice into the physical space, turned human body into an antenna which tuned radio frequencies and therefore created composition by motion. We experimented with performing our bodies by connecting sensors to our bodies and manipulating our pulse by listening to different records and by influencing our breathing and concentration.
