The distributed installation created a link between a rune-marked geological hard-drive in landscape and technological fossil in the Võru Town Gallery by allowing oneself to sacrifice data from a bluetooth-capable device on location, in landscape, to be transfered into an otherwise inaccessible digital fossil located at gallery space.
Digital Fossil transforms a ritual known in pagan cultures into a contemporary setting where visitor can sacrifice personal data from their smartphones and other bluetooth-capable devices onto the rune-marked sacrificial rock.
